Clerkenwell Design Week / 24 - 26th May 2016
Clerkenwell Design Week is the UK's leading independent design festival and we're delighted to be part of it this year along with our partners the Goldsmiths' Centre. The centre is hosting the 'live events' hub, a new feature added for 2016's CDW. The hub will celebrate design innovation through a series of workshops, talks and a pop-up exhibition.
As part of this exciting line up and on each of the three Clerkenwell Design Week days Architect and Simply Rhino trainer Arthur Mamou-Mani will be making a presentation and demonstration each with a different design focus.
Following are the details of the three talks Arthur will present along with information on how to link up and book your place to join them.

Parametric Design for the Furniture & Product Design Industries
This talk and short demonstration will focus on the design and fabrication of complex geometry for furniture and product design. Using grasshopper and its plugins, Arthur Mamou-Mani will show how parametric modelling coupled with digital fabrication enables the design, simulation and fabrication of unique products. Grasshopper3D is a plugin for the popular CAD modelling software Rhino3D. Grasshopper allows the creation of algorithmic and parametric models with a user-friendly graphical interface.

Visual Merchandising & Pop-Up Structure Design
This talk and short demonstration, by Arthur Mamou-Mani will focus on the use of Grasshopper on several award-winning window displays and pop-up structures, from Karen Millen’s flagship store all the way to the Burning Man festival. Grasshopper3D is a plugin for the popular CAD modelling software Rhino3D. Grasshopper allows the creation of algorithmic and parametric models with a user-friendly graphical interface.

Environmental Lead Architectural Design
This talk and short demonstration will show how to create creative loops between designs and environmental feedback in Architecture and interior design. Using examples from practice, Arthur Mamou-Mani will demonstrate how Grasshopper and its numerous plugins enabled designs that adapt and are responsive to their specific environment. Grasshopper3D is a plugin for the popular CAD modelling software Rhino3D. Grasshopper allows the creation of algorithmic and parametric models with a user-friendly graphical interface.
